A solution of corrosion-inhibiting chemicals applied to the surface of a coated steel sheet, such as galvanized steel. Traditionally, chromate was the chemical of choice. Currently non-chrome or RoHS compliant chemicals are available which do not contain chrome. When steel has been treated with chemicals to inhibit rust the steel is referred to as Chemically Treated and is either Dry (CTD) or Oiled (CTLO).
